The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:44 p.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Claude Carignan, P.C., presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Carignan, P.C., Forest, Galvez, Kingston, LaBoucane-Benson, Loffreda, MacAdam, Moreau, Pate, Ross and Smith (11).

Participating in the meeting: Sylvain Fleury and Shaowei Pu, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the committee continued its examination of the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025.

WITNESSES:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada:

Nathalie Manseau, Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer;

Soyoung Park, Assistant Deputy Minister, Asylum and Refugee Resettlement;

Pemi Gill, Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Delivery.

Veterans Affairs Canada:

Pierre Tessier, Assistant Deputy Minister, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Services Branch.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation:

Michel Tremblay, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice-President, Corporate Services.

Nathalie Manseau, Pierre Tessier and Michel Tremblay each made a statement and, together with Soyoung Park and Pemi Gill, answered questions.

At 8:42 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
