The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:01 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the deputy chair, the Honourable Éric Forest, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dagenais, Deacon (Ontario), Duncan, Forest, Gignac, Loffreda, Marshall, Pate and Smith (9).
Participating in the meeting: André Léonard and Shaowei Pu, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 8, 2023, the committee began its consideration of Bill C-241, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (deduction of travel expenses for tradespersons).

Yves Giroux and Pierre Leblanc each made a statement and, together with Nora Nahornick and Mark Maxson, answered questions.
