The Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day at 5:01 p.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable René Cormier, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Clement, Cormier, Dalphond, Mégie, Mockler and Moncion (6).

Participating in the meeting: Marie-Ève Hudon, analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2023, the committee continued its study on minority-language health services.

WITNESSES:

New Brunswick Health Council:

Stéphane Robichaud, Chief Executive Officer.

Vitalité Health Network:

Dr. France Desrosiers, President and Chief Executive Officer (by videoconference).

Mouvement Acadien des Communautés en Santé du Nouveau-Brunswick:

Barbara Losier, Executive Director (by videoconference).

Fédération des aînées et aînés francophones du Canada:

Solange Haché, President (by videoconference);

Jean-Luc Racine, Director General.

Carrefour 50+ of British Columbia:

Joanne Dumas, President (by videoconference);

Stéphane Lapierre, Executive Director (by videoconference).

Association francophone des aînés du Nouveau-Brunswick:

Marcel Larocque, President (by videoconference);

Jules Chiasson, Executive Director (by videoconference).

Stéphane Robichaud, France Desrosiers and Barbara Losier each made a statement and answered questions.

At 6:07 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 6:13 p.m., the committee resumed.

Jean-Luc Racine, Joanne Dumas and Marcel Larocque each made a statement and, together with Jules Chiasson, Solange Haché and Stéphane Lapierre, answered questions.

At 7:14 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
