Pursuant to the order of the Senate of May 5, 2022, the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 3:01 p.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Ratna Omidvar, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bovey, Cordy, Dasko, Kutcher, Mégie, Omidvar, Patterson, Verner, P.C., and Yussuff (9).

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators McPhedran, Moodie and Poirier (3).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Moncion (1).

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, the committee began its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Divisions 23, 24, 26, 27, 29 and 32 of Part 5 of Bill C-19, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on April 7, 2022 and other measures. (Topic: Division 23)
