The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:06 p.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Ratna Omidvar, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bovey, Cordy, Dasko, Kutcher, Lankin, P.C., Martin, McPhedran, Moodie, Omidvar, Petitclerc and Verner, P.C. (11).

Other senators present: The Honourable Senator McCallum (1).

Participating in the meeting: Joëlle Nadeau, Principal Clerk, Committees Directorate; Laura Blackmore, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee began its study on issues relating to social affairs, science and technology generally. (Topic: The Role of Gender-based Analysis Plus in the Policy Process)

Karen Hogan made a statement, and together with Carey Agnew and Stephanie Moores, answered questions.

At 4:59 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 5:03 p.m., the committee resumed.

Bonnie Brayton and Anna Cameron each made a statement, and, together with Lindsay Tedds, answered questions.

At 6 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
