Quarterly Expenditure Report

Expenditures are disclosed in the quarter in which the reimbursement was paid. This could lead to timing differences. For example, where travel occurs in December, but the claim is submitted and processed in January, the expenditures disclosed would appear in the January 1 to March 31 quarterly report, not in the September to December period.

* Specific House Officers are provided an additional budget to cover expenses required to fulfill their duties. In these cases, the Living Expenses and Travel Expenses under the travel point system are disclosed under the Senators tab, and Office Expenses, Hospitality Expenses and Contracts Awarded are disclosed under the Senate House Officers tab since their office budgets are consolidated.

Other important notes:

• Senator travel expenses paid from an administration budget are disclosed under the Senator Other tab.
• The travel and hospitality expenses of the Committees and International and Interparliamentary Affairs (IIA) are disclosed under the Committees/IIA tab.
• The travel and hospitality expenses of the employees of the Administration, including the Senior Officers, are disclosed under the Administration tab.
