How do you feel about working at the Senate?
I absolutely love it! I feel that I am a part of the big Senate family. Everyone I’ve had the opportunity to work or interact with is very kind and friendly. I truly enjoy coming to work every day. Each day offers something new and exciting, and promises to serve as a learning opportunity.
What is the best thing about working at the Senate?
I have learned more than I ever thought I would. The experience has allowed me to better understand my interests, and to learn and observe from a very unique perspective how the Canadian parliamentary system works.
What has been your greatest contribution to date?
I feel very proud of the work that I was able to do on the revised Rules of the Senate. These Rules, which were adopted by the Senate in June 2012, are the most substantive amendments made to them since 1991. I am particularly proud of the work I did in creating a more user-friendly online version of the Rules, making them accessible to anyone in the world via the Internet.
What has the Senate given you?
The Senate has given me a fascinating opportunity to learn in an incredible environment. I have had the privilege of meeting many professionals in a field that greatly interests me, and to learn from their expertise and experience.
Would you consider the Senate as a potential employer following your studies? Why?
Absolutely! I recognize that it is extremely important to come to a welcoming and friendly workplace every day, and the Senate does offer this. Working at the Senate would continue to be a learning opportunity for me and would contribute significantly towards my professional development. The fast-paced environment, the variety of work, and the fact that each day presents new challenges is also something that appeals to me.
