The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 9:31 a.m., in the Sheraton South Room, Sheraton Cavalier, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black (Ontario), Gagné, Griffin and Maltais (4).
In attendance: Aïcha Coulibaly, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament; Marcy Galipeau, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, March 9, 2017, the committee continued its study on the potential impact of the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors. The chair made a statement.
Mr. Bender, Mr. Hilgartner and Mr. Serfas made statements and, together with Mr. Steve and Mr. Toma, answered questions.
At 10:33 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:42 a.m., the committee resumed and the deputy chair, the Honourable Senator Maltais, took the chair.
At 11:05 a.m. the chair, the Honourable Senator Griffin, took the chair.
Mr. Jacobson, Mr. Mazier, Mr. Lewis and Ms. Sterling made statements and, together with Mr. Gilchrist, answered questions.
At 12:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
