The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8:01 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black (Ontario), Dagenais, Doyle, Gagné, Griffin, Maltais, Mercer, Oh, Petitclerc and Woo (10).
In attendance: Frédéric Forge and Corentin Bialais, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 15, 2018, the committee continued its study on how the value-added food sector can be more competitive in global markets. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 47.)

The chair made a statement.
Mr. Le Vallée and Mr. Buckingham made statements and, together with Ms. Yildirim, answered questions.
At 9:08 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:12 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Pohlmann made a statement and answered questions.
At 9:44 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:45 a.m., the committee, pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 9:50 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
