The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:49 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry W. Smith, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Cools, Forest, Marshall, Mockler, Moncion, Neufeld, Pratte, Smith and Woo (11).
In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Olivier Leblanc-Laurendeau, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, the committee continued its study of the financial implications and regional considerations of Canada's aging population.

Don Drummond, Adjunct Professor and Stauffer-Dunning Fellow, School of Policy Studies, Queen's University (by video conference).
Canadian Medical Association:
Dr. Granger Avery, President;

Mr. Foot, Dr. Avery and Mr. Drummond each made an opening statement and answered questions.
