The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 10:30 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eggleton, P.C., Frum, Merchant, Nancy Ruth, Ogilvie, Raine, Seidman and Stewart Olsen (8).
In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the committee continued its study on the issue of dementia in our society.
WITNESS:

Dr. Shekhar Saxena, Director, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse (by video conference).
The chair made a statement.
Dr. Saxena made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:35 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee continued in camera to discuss future business.
At 11:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
