The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met at 9:30 a.m, this day, in room 705, Victoria Building, the Chair, the Honourable Senator Murray, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bolduc, Comeau, Day, Doody, Ferretti Barth, Finnerty, Gauthier, Maheu, Mahovlich, Murray, P.C. (10).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Cools, Ringuette (2).
In attendance: Mr. Guy Beaumier, and Stephen Laurent, Research Officers, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on June 13, 2003, the committee undertook consideration of Bill C-25, the Public Service Modernization Act.

The Honourable Lucienne Robillard made an opening statement and with Mr. Lahey, Mr. Quail, Mr. Lefrançois and Ms Boudrias answered questions from members of the committee.
At 11:14 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
