Pursuant to the order of the Senate of May 5, 2022, the Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference at 9:02 a.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Robert Black, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Klyne, Marwah and Simons (5).
Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Cotter, Petitclerc and Wetston (3).

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 10, 2022, the committee continued its study on issues relating to agriculture and forestry generally. (Topic: The British Columbia Flood and Recovery Efforts)

At 9:50 a.m., the committee resumed.
Tyrone McNeil and Brenden Mercer each made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:29 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:30 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to discuss a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that the committee allow the transcription of the in camera portion of today’s meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members or staff; and that the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
At 10:54 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
