The Canadian Museum for Human Rights held the reception to celebrate the life of Viola Desmond, whose likeness is now featured on the $10 note.

Friday, April 26, 2019 – Senator Brian Francis attends a ceremony where he presented Senate 150 anniversary medals at Government House in Charlottetown. The event was hosted by Antoinette Perry, Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island. Local musicians and Indigenous dancers and drummers performed for the recipients and their friends and family.
