Monday, May 31, 2021 – Senator Paula Simons meets with Grade 9 students at Bert Church High School in Airdrie, Alberta. She answered questions on a wide range of topics including regional representation in the Senate, Canada’s COVID-19 response as well as discrimination and systemic.
Friday, June 4, 2021 – Senator Brian Francis participates in the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The memorial honours survivors of the residential school system.
Monday, June 7, 2021 – As part of their Inspirational Speakers Series, Grade 12 students at Halifax West High School in Nova Scotia host a virtual question-and-answer session with Senator Wanda Elaine Thomas Bernard. The discussion focused on the senator’s social-justice advocacy work.
Friday, June 11, 2021 – Senator Ratna Omidvar participates in an “India COVID-19 Relief Fund” panel discussion examining India’s health crisis and Canada’s role in providing emergency relief.
Friday, June 18, 2021 – Senator Robert Black meets with Mike McMorris, CEO of Livestock Research Innovation Corporation. The two discussed the important role livestock plays in Ontario’s agricultural economy. The organization studies and promotes livestock rearing through their International Research Advisory Committee, mentorship program, and Horizon Series of reports and webinars.
