Wednesday, April 12, 2023 – Senator Karen Sorensen meets with Grade 9 students at Ardrossan Junior Senior High School in Ardrossan, Alberta. During her visit, co-ordinated by SENgage, she shared insights about her journey to the Senate and her role as a senator, including her work on committees. She also explained how bills are passed and answered questions from students.

During her visit, co-ordinated by SENgage, she shared her journey to the Senate and discussed her work with the East Preston Empowerment Academy and key moments that led her to where she is today. Senator Bernard also took questions from students on how to get involved and make a difference in their communities.

Monday, April 17, 2023 – Senator David M. Wells, right, meets with Mike Summers, Justin Dawe and Michael Hunt of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC). In the senator’s office on Parliament Hill, they discussed the importance of protecting Newfoundland and Labrador communities and ensuring adequate funding for the provincial police service. Senator Wells is a long-time supporter of the work of the RNC.

The senator made a statement in the Senate Chamber to celebrate the 40^th edition of the Défi sportif AlterGo event, which brings together athletes of all abilities and is the largest annual multi-sport event in Canada.

The senator, who tuned in from the Senate Chamber, described her journey to the Senate, her role as an independent senator, and the history and function of the Senate.
