The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met at 10:59 a.m., this day, in room 705, Victoria Building, the Honourable Wilbert J. Keon, Deputy Chair, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Callbeck, Cochrane, Cook, Cordy and Keon (5).
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament Research Branch: Howard Chodos, Research Analyst, Political and Social Affairs Division; Tim Riordan, Analyst, Political and Social Affairs Division.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, the committee began its examination of Bill S-14, An Act to protect heritage lighthouses.
It was agreed that the committee move to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill S-14.
It was agreed that the title, the preamble and clause 1 stand postponed.
It was agreed that clause 2 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 3 to 5 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 6 to 10 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 11 to 16 carry.
It was agreed that clause 17 carry.
It was agreed that clause 18 carry
It was agreed that clause 1 carry.
It was agreed that the preamble carry.
It was agreed that the title carry.
It was agreed that Bill S-14, be adopted.
It was agreed that the Chair report the bill at the next sitting of the Senate.
At 11:02 a.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the Chair.
