The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 8:06 a.m. in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eaton, Fairbairn, P.C., Finley, Mercer, Mockler, Plett, Poulin and Rivard (8).
In attendance: Mathieu Frigon and David Surprenant, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, the committee continued its consideration of the current state and future of Canada's forest sector. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1)

Canadian Green Building Council:
Thomas Mueller, President and CEO.
Ms. Doyle and Mr. Mueller each made a statement. Together the witnesses answered questions.

The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day in camera at 5:32 p.m. in room 705, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Eaton, Finley, Lovelace Nicholas, Mercer, Mockler, Plett, Poulin and Rivard (8).
In attendance: Mathieu Frigon and David Surprenant, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, the committee continued its consideration of the current state and future of Canada's forest sector. (For complete text of order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 1)
Pursuant to Rule 92(2)(f) the committee met in camera to examine draft reports.
It was agreed that the following supplementary budget application for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010 in the amount of $47,730, be approved for submission to the Standing Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration.
Summary of Expenditures:
Professional and Other Services $ 11,600 Transportation and Communications $ 33,130 All Other Expenditures $ 3,000 TOTAL $ 47,730
It was agreed that the report entitled "The Canadian Forest Sector: Past, Present, Future'' be adopted and that the Chair table the report in the Senate before the Christmas break.
At 6:02 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
