The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 4:17 p.m., in room 160- S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable A. Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Beyak, Dawson, De Bané, P.C., Downe, Fortin-Duplessis, Johnson, Rivard, Robichaud, P.C., Smith, P.C., (Cobourg), Wallace and Wallin (12).
In attendance: Natalie Mychajlyszyn and Brian Hermon, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-14, An Act to amend the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act. The chair made an opening statement.
Ms. Thomson and Mr. Osborne made statements and answered questions.
At 5:32 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 5:35 p.m., the committee resumed in camera.
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that senators' staff be allowed to stay in the room.
At 5:49 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
