The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs met this day at 10:32 a.m., in room 257, East Block, the chair, the Honourable Bob Runciman, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Angus, Baker, P.C., Boisvenu, Campbell, Dagenais, Di Nino, Fraser, Joyal, P.C., Peterson, Runciman, Unger, Wallace and White (13).
In attendance: Robin MacKay and Erin Shaw, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 14, 2012, the committee continued its study on the proposed Firearms Information Regulations (Non-Restricted Firearms).

The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Farrant, Mr. Friedman and Mr. Torino each made a statement and answered questions.
At 11:26 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:37 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Rathjen, Mr. Epps and Mr. Stamatakis each made a statement and answered questions.
At 12:18 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 12:24 p.m., the committee resumed.
It was agreed that, pursuant to rule 92(2)(f), the committee continue in camera to consider a draft report.
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera portions of today's meeting.
At 12:27 p.m., the committee continued in public.
It was agreed that the committee's fifteenth report on the proposed Firearms Information Regulations (Non- Restricted Firearms), be adopted.
It was agreed that the chair table the report in the Senate.
At 12:40 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
