The Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights met this day, at 9:08 a.m. in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Mobina S. B. Jaffer, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Eggleton, P.C., Hubley, Jaffer, Munson, Ngo, Oh, and White. (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Baker, P.C. (1).
In attendance: Laura Barnett, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament, Shaila Anwar, Senate Committees Directorate.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 20, 2013, the committee continued its examination of Bill C-304, An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act (protecting freedom).
It was agreed that the committee proceed to clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-304, An Act to amend the Canadian Human Rights Act (protecting freedom).
It was agreed that the title stand postponed.
It was agreed that clause 1 carry, on division.
