The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met in camera this day at 4 p.m. in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Daniel Lang, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Buth, Campbell, Dallaire, Day, Lang, Mitchell, Nolin, Patterson, Plett and White (10).
In attendance: Holly Porteous, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 8, 2012, the committee continued its study on harassment in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 15.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee met in camera to consider a draft report.
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room.
The chair made a statement.
At 5:22 p.m., the Honourable Senator Patterson replaced the Honourable Senator White as a member of the committee.
It was agreed that the steering committee and the clerk of the committee be authorized to correct typographical and stylistic errors in the report, as needed.
It was agreed that the draft report be adopted, on division, and that the chair table it in the Senate at the earliest opportunity.
At 6:30 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
