The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 8:04 a.m., in room 160-S, Center Block, the chair, the Honourable Kelvin Kenneth Ogilvie, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Braley, Champagne, P.C., Cordy, Eggleton, P.C., Martin, Merchant, Ogilvie, Seidman and Verner, P.C. (9).

In attendance: Karin Phillips, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 23, 2011, the committee continued its study on the progress in implementing the 2004, 10-Year Plan to Strengthen Health Care. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 3.).

Nadine Henningsen, Executive Director.

The chair made a statement.

Ms. Delancy, Ms. Hoffman, Mr. Manion, Dr. Kitts, Dr. Schull, Mr. McNamara, Ms. Henningsen, Dr. Haggie, Dr. Taylor and Mr. Morgan each participated in a roundtable discussion.

At 11:39 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
