The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Buth, Callbeck, Chaput, Eaton, Day, Gerstein, Mockler, Seth and Smith (Saurel) (10).
In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, the committee began its examination of the Supplementary Estimates (C) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014.

Marcia Santiago, Executive Director, Expenditure Management Sector;
Darryl Sprecher, Director, Expenditure Management Portfolio.

Pamela D'Eon, Acting Chief Financial Officer;
Janet King, Assistant Deputy Minister, Northern Affairs;
Serge Beaudoin, Director General, Sector Operations Branch;
Paul Schauerte, Senior Policy Manager, Program Design and Regional Partnerships.
Public Works and Government Services Canada:
Alex Lakroni, Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Administration Branch;
Pierre-Marc Mongeau, Assistant Deputy Minister, Real Property Branch.
Mr. Matthews made a statement and, together with Ms. Santiago and Mr. Sprecher, answered questions.
At 7:55 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 7:59 p.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. D'Eon made a statement and, together with Ms. King, Mr. Beaudoin and Mr. Schauerte, answered questions.
Mr. Lakroni made a statement and, together with Mr. Mongeau, answered questions.
At 8:56 p.m., it was agreed that the committee adjourn to the call of the chair.
