The Standing Senate Committee on National Security and Defence met this day at 3:45 p.m. in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Daniel Lang, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Beyak, Dagenais, Day, Lang, Mitchell and Stewart Olsen (6).

In attendance: Holly Porteous, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft agenda (future business).

The chair made a statement.

It was agreed that the Honourable Senator Mitchell be the deputy chair of this committee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

It was agreed that the membership of the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs be as follows: The Honourable Senators Day, Kenny, Lang, Stewart Olsen and White, three of whom shall constitute a quorum.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

The Honourable Senator Day moved that the Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs be authorized to meet Wednesday, September 24, 2014, for the purpose of electing a chair and a deputy chair.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

At 3:47 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
