The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 4:15 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the deputy chair, the Honourable Art Eggleton, P.C., presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Chaput, Cordy, Dallaire, Eaton, Eggleton, P.C., Enverga, Segal, Seidman, Seth and Stewart Olsen (11).
In attendance: Sonya Norris, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, the committee began its study of the subject matter of Divisions 5, 10 and 11 of Part 3 of Bill C-4, a second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 21, 2013 and other measures.

At 4:45 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 4:47 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Moore made a statement and, together with Ms. Siew, answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Parent and Mr. Leduc each made a statement and, together, answered questions.
At 6:16 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
