The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Dennis Dawson, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Dawson, Demers, Eggleton, P.C, Greene, Housakos, MacDonald, Plett and Verner, P.C. (8).
In attendance: Terrence Thomas and Zachary Alaoui, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, the committee began its consideration of the subject-matter of those elements contained in Divisions 15, 16 and 28 of Part 6 of Bill C-31, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures.

The chair made an opening statement.
Mr. Roussel made a statement and, together with Mr. Ram and Ms. Wilson, answered questions.
At 9:52 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:55 a.m., the committee resumed.
Ms. Pham made a statement and, with Ms. Jacques, answered questions.
At 10:36 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
