The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 4:15 p.m., in room 160- S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable A. Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Boehm, Bovey, Cordy, Coyle, Dean, Greene, Housakos, Massicotte, Ngo and Saint-Germain (11).
In attendance: Pascal Tremblay and Constance Naud-Arcand, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, the committee began its consideration of Bill S-6, An Act to implement the Convention between Canada and the Republic of Madagascar for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.

The chair made a statement.
Mr. Cook made a statement and, together with Ms. Smith, answered questions.
