The Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples met in camera this day at 6:50 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Lillian Eva Dyck, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Christmas, Coyle, Dyck, Lovelace Nicholas, McInnis, McPhedran, Pate and Patterson (8).
In attendance: Brittany Collier and Marlisa Tiedemann, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of those elements contained in Divisions 11, 12 and 19 of Part 4 of Bill C-86, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 27, 2018 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 46.)
Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.
It was agreed that senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room for the in camera meeting.
It was agreed to permit the recording and transcription of the in camera meeting; that one copy of the transcript be kept with the clerk for consultation purposes; and that the copy be destroyed at the end of the current parliamentary session.
The committee began its consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed that the draft report, as amended, be adopted and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be empowered to approve the final version of the report, taking into consideration this meeting's discussions, and with any necessary editorial, grammatical or translation changes as required.
It was agreed that the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate.
At 7:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
