The Special Senate Committee on Anti-terrorism met this day at 1:30 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Senator Hugh Segal, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Boisvenu, Dagenais, Dallaire, Day, Joyal, P.C., Segal, Smith, P.C. (Cobourg), Tkachuk and Wallace (9).
In attendance: Lyne Casavant and Holly Porteous, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 17, 2012, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-9, An Act to amend the Criminal Code.

David Lamarche, Chief, Technical Advisor.
Public Safety Canada:
John Davies, Director General, National Security Policy;
Emmanuelle Deault-Bonin, Senior Policy Analyst, National Security Policy Division.
At 2:50 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 2:55 p.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Jamieson and Ms. Dagenais made a statement and, together with Mr. Awad, Mr. Cameron and Mr. Lamarche, anwered questions.
Mr. Davies made a statement and, together with Ms. Deault-Bonin, answered questions.
At 4 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
