The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:45 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Black, Callbeck, Chaput, Day, De Bané, P.C., Gerstein, Neufeld, McInnis, Mockler and Oliver (11).

In attendance: Édison Roy-César and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Also in attendance: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, May 2, 2013, the committee continued its examination of the subject-matter of Bill C-60, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 21, 2013 and other measures, introduced in the House of Commons on April 29, 2013.

Mr. Cook made a statement and, together with Mr. Trueman, Mr. Keenan and Ms. Phillips, answered questions.

At 7:06 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:07 p.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Mercille and Ms. Di Primio each made a statement, and, together with Mr. Achadinha, answered questions.

At 8:01 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 8:02 p.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. Beyea made a statement and, together with Mr. Halley, answered questions.

At 8:25 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 8:26 p.m., the committee resumed.

Ms. Grainger made a statement and, together with Ms. Pearse, answered questions.

At 8:40 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 8:41 p.m., the committee resumed.

Mr. McGirr made a statement and, together with Mr. Vats, answered questions.

At 8:57 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
