The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met in camera this day at 6:50 p.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Hervieux-Payette, P.C., Rivard, Smith (Saurel) and Wells (8).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, October 30, 2014, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of Bill C-43, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on February 11, 2014 and other measures. (For the complete order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 20.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed that senators' staff be allowed to stay in the room.

It was agreed that the draft report on the subject matter of Bill C-43 be adopted, as amended, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to make minor editorial revisions.

It was agreed that the report be tabled in the chamber at the earliest opportunity.

At 7:34 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
