The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met in camera this day at 9:30 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Joseph A. Day, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Chaput, Day, Eaton, Gerstein, Maltais, Mockler, Smith (Saurel) and Wallace (9).

In attendance: Sylvain Fleury and Raphaëlle Deraspe, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, February 26, 2015, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed that the senators' staff be allowed to stay in the room.

It was agreed that the draft interim report on the 2015-16 Main Estimates be adopted, as amended, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to make minor editorial revisions; and

That the report be tabled in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

At 9:50 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 9:51 a.m., the committee resumed.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the committee continued its examination of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 8.)

Pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee considered a draft report.

It was agreed that the draft final report on the 2014-2015 Main Estimates be adopted, as amended, and that the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be authorized to make minor editorial revisions; and

That the report be tabled in the Senate, at the earliest opportunity.

At 10:18 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
