The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 10:37 a.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Cools, Cordy, Downe, Eaton, Housakos, Ngo, Oh and Poirier (10).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Black, Bovey, Dean, Dupuis, Lankin, P.C., and Woo (6).
In attendance: Natalie Mychajlyszyn and Pascal Tremblay, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on November 3, 2016, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-13, An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act, the Hazardous Products Act, the Radiation Emitting Devices Act, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, the Pest Control Products Act and the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and to make related amendments to another Act.
The chair made a statement.
At 10:45 a.m., it was agreed that the committee proceed to clause -by-clause consideration of Bill C-13, An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act, the Hazardous Products Act, the Radiation Emitting Devices Act, the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, the Pest Control Products Act and the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act and to make related amendments to another Act.
It was agreed that the title stand postponed.
It was agreed that clause 1 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 2 to 10 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 11 to 20 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 21 to 30 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 31 to 40 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 41 to 50 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 51 to 60 carry.
It was agreed that clauses 61 to 73 carry.
It was agreed that the title carry.
It was agreed that the bill carry.
It was agreed that the chair report the bill to the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on March 22, 2016, the committee continued its study on the opportunities for strengthening cooperation with Mexico since the tabling, in June 2015, of the committee report entitled North American Neighbours: Maximizing Opportunities and Strengthening Cooperation for a more Prosperous Future.
