The Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met this day at 4:01 p.m., in room 2, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable A. Raynell Andreychuk, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Ataullahjan, Boehm, Bovey, Dawson, Dean, Frum, Greene, Massicotte, Ngo and Saint-Germain (11).

In attendance: Pascal Tremblay and Constance Naud-Arcand, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, the committee continued its consideration on Bill C-47, An Act to amend the Export and Import Permits Act and the Criminal Code (amendments permitting the accession to the Arms Trade Treaty and other amendments). The chair made a statement.

The Honourable Minister Freeland made a statement and, together with Mr. Shugart, Mr. Khatchadourian, Ms. Termorshuizen and Mr. Thompson, answered questions.

At 5:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
