The Standing Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry met this day at 9:07 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Diane F. Griffin, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Black (Ontario), Deacon (Nova Scotia), Doyle, Gold, Griffin, Mercer, Miville-Dechêne, Oh and Plett (9).

In attendance: Offah Obale and Xavier Deschenes-Philion, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament, and Síofra McAllister, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

The Honourable Senator Black moved:

That the Honourable Senator Plett be deputy chair of this committee.

The question being put on the motion, it was adopted.

At 9:10 a.m., the committee suspended.

At 9:11 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).

At 9:40 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
