The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:31 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Larry Smith, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Cools, Eaton, Marshall, Mitchell, Mockler, Neufeld, Pratte and Smith (9).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators Dupuis and Gold (2).
In attendance: Alex Smith and Sylvain Fleury, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, the committee continued its consideration of the subject matter of all of Bill C-29, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2016 and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 20.)

Angella MacEwen, Senior Economist, Social and Economic Policy Department.
Ms. MacEwen made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:15 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:18 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft report.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, the committee continued its consideration of Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2017. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 19.)
It was agreed that the senators' staff be permitted to remain in the room during the in camera portion of the meeting.
It was agreed that the draft report be adopted, with the discussed amendments.
It was agreed that the chair be authorized to table the report in the Senate.
At 11:28 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
