The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 9:05 a.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Andreychuk, Cools, Eaton, Maltais, Marshall, Marwah, Mockler, Plett and Pratte (9).
In attendance: Sylvain Fleury, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Service, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, the committee continued its study of Bill C-63, A second Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 22, 2017, and other measures. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 55.)

Canada China Business Council:
Graham Shantz, President.
Mr. Friesen made a statement and answered questions.
At 9:41 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:45 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Cross and Mr. Shantz each made a statement and answered questions.
At 10:45 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:48 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to study a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that senators' staff be allowed to remain in the room for the in camera portion of the meeting.
At 10:56 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
