The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 12:30 p.m., in room 160-S, Centre Block, the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Day, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Eaton, Marshall, Mégie, Mockler, Moncion, Poirier, Pratte and Tannas (11).

In attendance: Alex Smith, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.

Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, the committee began its study of Bill C-62, An Act to amend the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act and other Acts.

The Honourable Scott Brison, P.C., M.P., President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government.

Sandra Hassan, Assistant Deputy Minister, Compensation and Labour Relations;

The chair made a statement.

The minister made a statement and, together with Ms. Hassan, Mr. Duggan and Mr. Mercier, answered questions.
