The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 8:18 a.m., in room 9, Victoria Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Christmas, Gold, Hartling, Manning, McInnis and Petitclerc (6).
In attendance: Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament and Ben Silverman, Communications Officer, Senate Communications Directorate.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the committee continued its study on issues relating to the federal government's current and evolving policy framework for managing Canada's fisheries and oceans. The chair made a statement.
Ms. Gelfand made a statement and, together with Ms. Clark, answered questions.
At 8:57 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 9:02 a.m., the committee resumed.
Mr. Morel made a statement and, together with Mr. Campbell, Mr. Moore and Mr. Thomson, answered questions.
At 10 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
