The Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met this day at 8:36 a.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Fabian Manning, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bovey, Busson, Campbell, Christmas, Francis, Gold, Manning, McInnis and Petitclerc (9).
In attendance: Daniele Lafrance, Analyst, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the committee continued its consideration of Bill C-55, An Act to amend the Oceans Act and the Canada Petroleum Resources Act. (For complete text of the order of reference, see proceedings of the committee, Issue No. 36.)
The chair made a statement.
Mr. Favaro made a statement and answered questions.
Mr. Hatcher made a statement and answered questions.
At 9:24 a.m., the deputy chair, the Honourable Senator Gold, took the chair.
At 9:28 a.m., the chair, the Honourable Senator Manning, took the chair.
At 10:02 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 10:04 a.m., the committee, pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
At 10:10 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
