The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day by videoconference at 10:01 a.m., [ET] the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding. This meeting is considered to have taken place in the parliamentary precinct.
Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Boehm, Dagenais, Deacon (Ontario), Duncan, Forest, Galvez, Klyne, Loffreda, Marshall, Mockler, Richards and Smith (12).
Other senator present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator Pate (1).
In attendance: Andrea Mugny, Procedural Clerk, Committees Directorate; Alex Smith and Shaowei Pu, Analysts, Parliamentary Information and Research Services, Library of Parliament.
Also present: The official reporters of the Senate.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, November 5, 2020, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy and Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy).

Canada Revenue Agency:
Ted Gallivan, Assistant Commissioner, Compliance Programs Branch;
Geoff Trueman, Assistant Commissioner, Legislative Policy and Regulatory Affairs Branch;
Randy Hewlett, Director General, Legislative Policy and Regulatory Affairs Branch.
Ms. Leblanc and Mr. Gallivan each made a statement and, together with Mr. Trueman and Mr. Hewlett, answered questions.
At 11:02 a.m., the committee suspended.
At 11:06 a.m., pursuant to rule 12-16(1)(d), the committee resumed in camera to consider a draft agenda (future business).
It was agreed that the committee allow the transcription of the in camera portion of today's meeting, that one copy be kept with the clerk of the committee for consultation by committee members and/or staff; and that the transcript be destroyed by the clerk when authorized to do so by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, but no later than at the end of this parliamentary session.
It was agreed that one staff member for each member of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be permitted to access this in camera portion of the Zoom meeting.
At 11:44 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
