The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy met this day at 11:29 a.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Pamela Wallin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Galvez, Gignac, Marshall, Miville-Dechêne, Petten, Ringuette and Wallin (9).
Participating in the meeting: Brett Howard and Adriane Yong, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 16, 2021, the committee continued its study of matters relating to banking, trade and commerce generally.

Alex Ciappara, Vice-President, Head Economist, Financial Stability and Banking Policy;
Aaron Meyer, Advisor, Household Finance and Mortgage Markets.
Canadian Credit Union Association:
Michael Hatch, Vice-President, Government Relations (by videoconference).
Alex Ciappara made a statement and, together with Aaron Meyer, answered questions.
At 12:38 p.m., the committee suspended.
At 12:39 p.m., the committee resumed.
