The Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy met this day at 4:14 p.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Pamela Wallin, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Deacon (Nova Scotia), Loffreda, Marshall, Martin, Massicotte, Miville-Dechêne, Petten, Ringuette, Wallin and Yussuff (11).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator Robinson (1).
Participating in the meeting: Brett Howard and Adriane Yong, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Friday, November 17, 2023, the committee began its study of the Government response to the eighth report (interim) of the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Commerce and the Economy, entitled Needed: An Innovation Strategy for the Data-Driven Economy, tabled in the Senate on June 15, 2023.

Anil Arora made a statement and, together with André Loranger, answered questions.
