The Standing Senate Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs met this day at 11:31 a.m., in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Brent Cotter, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Batters, Clement, Cotter, Dalphond, Oudar, Prosper and Simons (7).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senator McCallum (1).
Participating in the meeting: Iryna Zazulya and Michaela Keenan-Pelletier, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the committee continued its consideration of Bill S-256, An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act (seizure) and to make related amendments to other Acts.

Rachel Huggins, Deputy Director and Co-chair of the Drug Advisory Committee;
Michael Rowe, Inspector, Law Amendments Committee.

At 12:43 p.m., the committee resumed.
Chief Michael Yellowback and Pierre Jacques each made a statement and, together with Chief Betsy Kennedy, answered questions.
At 1:39 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
