The Standing Senate Committee on National Finance met this day at 6:47 p.m., in room W110, 1 Wellington St., the chair, the Honourable Percy Mockler, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Cormier, Dagenais, Galvez, Gignac, Loffreda, Marshall, Mockler, Pate, Smith and Woo (10).

Participating in the meeting: André Léonard and Shaowei Pu, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, the committee continued its examination of Bill S-233, An Act to develop a national framework for a guaranteed livable basic income.

WITNESS:

As an individual:

David Green, Professor, Vancouver School of Economics, University of British Colombia (by videoconference).

David Green made a statement and answered questions.

At 7:50 p.m., pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the committee began its examination of the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024.
