Pursuant to the order of the Senate of May 5, 2022, the Standing Senate Committee on Official Languages met this day in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference, at 6:30 p.m., the chair, the Honourable René Cormier, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Clement, Cormier, Dagenais, Gagné and Loffreda (5).

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Bellemare, Miville-Dechêne and Poirier (3).

Participating in the meeting: Sara Gajic, Legislative Clerk and Laurie-Anne Spooner, Administrative Assistant, Committees Directorate; Marie-Ève Hudon, Analyst, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the committee continued its examination of the subject matter of Bill C-13, An Act to amend the Official Languages Act, to enact the Use of French in Federally Regulated Private Businesses Act and to make related amendments to other Acts.
