Pursuant to the order of the Senate of November 25, 2021, the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day in room B30, Senate of Canada Building, and with videoconference at 6:30 p.m. ET, the chair, the Honourable Ratna Omidvar, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Bovey, Dasko, Griffin, Moodie, Omidvar, Patterson and Petitclerc (7).

Members of the committee present by videoconference: The Honourable Senators Bernard, Kutcher, Lankin, P.C., Poirier and Verner, P.C. (5).

Other senators present by videoconference: The Honourable Senator Yussuff (1).

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, December 2, 2021, the committee began its examination of the subject matter of Bill C-3, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Canada Labour Code.

At 7:36 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:38 p.m., the committee resumed.

Bea Bruske, Gil McGowan and Jasmin Guénette each made a statement and answered questions.

At 8:32 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
