The Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology met this day at 11:31 a.m., in room B45, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Ratna Omidvar, presiding.
Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Burey, Cordy, Cormier, Dasko, MacAdam, McPhedran, Mégie, Omidvar, Petitclerc and Seidman (10).
Other senators present: The Honourable Senators McBean and Moncion (2).
Participating in the meeting: Mayra Perez-Leclerc and Diana Ambrozas, analysts, Library of Parliament.
Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Thursday, June 1, 2023, the committee continued its study of Bill S-252, An Act respecting Jury Duty Appreciation Week.
WITNESSES:
The Honourable Senator Lucie Moncion, sponsor of the bill.
Canadian Juries Commission:
Mark Farrant, Founder and Chief Executive Officer;
Tina Daenzer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer (by videoconference).
