The Standing Senate Committee on Transport and Communications met this day at 6 p.m., in room C128, Senate of Canada Building, the chair, the Honourable Leo Housakos, presiding.

Members of the committee present: The Honourable Senators Clement, Dasko, Dawson, Harder, P.C., Housakos, Miville-Dechêne, Pate, Quinn, Simons, Sorensen and Wallin (11).

Participating in the meeting: Khamla Heminthavong and Jed Chong, analysts, Library of Parliament.

Pursuant to the order of reference adopted by the Senate on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the committee continued its consideration of the subject matter of Bill C-11, An Act to amend the Broadcasting Act and to make related and consequential amendments to other Acts.

Tim Denton, Matthew Hatfield and John Lawford each made a statement and, together with Len St-Aubin, answered questions.

At 7:05 p.m., the committee suspended.

At 7:14 p.m., the committee resumed.

Eleanor Noble, Annick Charette and Dave Forget each made a statement and, together with Marie Kelly and Warren P. Sonoda, answered questions.

At 8:22 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
